Fantasia Speaks out-Via Global Grind

After weeks of being dragged through the mud for allegedly dating a married man by the name of “Antwuan Cook”, Fantasia addressed the rumors about her personal life with Power 105’s Malikha Mallette. Fantasia supposedly met this guy in a cell phone store, they began dating and he left his family shortly afterwards.

“I am 25 years old babe. I have friends. Very nice looking friends. It’s time for me to do what everybody’s so used to me talking about “Freeing myself” and “Not gonna beg you no more” and just in bad relationships. You know I have friends, I’m 25 and I’m working on what I fought so hard for… Read more: Global Grind

Haiti needs our help!

Hip Hop artist Wyclef Jean is urging people to donate $5 to his Haitian charity, Yéle Haiti, by texting "YELE" to 501501. (The donation will be automatically charged to your cellphone bill.) His is one of many Haiti earthquake relief efforts underway.

Jean has spoken out saying, "I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse," said Jean in a statement. "We must act now... Haiti needs your prayers and support."

Jean said he is on his way to Haiti via the neighboring Dominican Republic and asked people to pray for Haiti and for him.

For more information on how to help, go to Jean's Yéle Haiti website, which crashed this morning due to the volume of traffic.

In a moving pre-Christmas message on his website, Jean wrote about Haiti and hope:

"At times when I go to Haiti I ask myself what would have happen if I never made it to America? What would I be doing right now? What if I never became Wyclef, and Wyclef was getting on the plane today to come to Haiti to bring me food and Christmas Gifts how would I feel.

When I reflect on such things, it makes me understand that to live for others is the none selfish way to live. At times we are so caught up with ourselves that we forget about those around us. Some say they can’t help the needy because they have no money to give to the poor. I say no one gave me money, in the hut they gave me hope."

Singer Teddy Pendergrass dies

On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, the world learned that Theodore DeReese "Teddy" Pendergrass, Sr. had died at the age of 59. Pendergrass first came into the national spotlight as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, a Philadelphia-based soul group which topped the charts with 1972’s “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” “Wake Up Everybody,” and many more classic songs. He later went solo, landing numerous singles on the pop and R&B charts throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, such as “Close the Door” and “I Don’t Love You Anymore.”
In 1982, Pendergrass was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident, but returned to the stage, performing in a wheelchair for Live Aid in Philadelphia in 1985. Recently, he was having “a difficult recovery” after undergoing surgery for colon cancer last spring. Pendergrass will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and fans. The hearts of all mourn the loss of such a great and talented man. Pendergrass is survived by his son, two daughters, his wife, his mother and nine grandchildren.

Is there a Day 26 without Que?-"I am not Aubrey! I'm not the devil"

Those are some of the most famous lines from the hit MTV reality show Making The Band, but we are not here to talk about the past times when Qwanell Mosley, better known as Que, has been accused of doing something to jeopardize the band. We are talking about the very real situation that has just come to the attention of the Music Hype staff. Mosley posted a twitter saying,

"Wow I'm so hurt (right) now I just received a letter from Day26 saying they (are) moving forward without me...I am so confused.. What did I do?"

This came after Mosley openly expressed to fans his distrust for management once saying: [Men lie Women lie numbers don't]. There have also been reports that management has been giving Mosley the information for upcoming shows and appearances too late for him to attend, but this is just speculation at this point the Music Hype staff have yet to confirm. This coupled with the reports that management have been mis-managing funds of the group members and fans leads Music Hype to believe that the distruction of Day26 has come from trusting management that needed to be dismissed a long time ago. Mosley is obviously hurt by this news and has asked his fans to pray for him. Mosley has not put out any other statements at this time, but Willie Taylor posted a tweet saying [Day26 is not breaking up new album 2010]. This coupled with the recent news Mosley has shared, and the information Music Hype received from a very close associate of Mosley leads us to believe that the Day26 "brotherhood" that everyone was believing and trusting would prevail in this situation is no more. Until we get updates we leave you with this blog post from Mosley about 2 months ago
