Artist of the Month-Jaylon

The Younger Years:

Jeremey Dewayne London aka Jaylon was born in Henderson East Texas in 1986 and moved to the "DFW" in 1988 to an area named Arlington in the urban community known as Agg-town. An had a love for music ever since he was able to talk. An artist name 2pac inspired him to pick up a pen and he took on his style as well as others as he experienced and studied music. Such as Eminem, Joe Budden, Chamillionaire, T.I., and Jadakiss.

Never really caring about school while others were doing assignments Jaylon was skipping school and when he was in class he wrote music. His love for music was so passionate his mother gave him ultimatum leave music alone an get serious with school or get out of my house. With that Jeremey got out got his G.E.D. and ran the streets. Jaylon has now over 7000 songs in his catalogue doesn’t plan on using half of them. “I cant use everything I write down I come up with great lyrics all the time but I only want to use great songs”.

The Music:

Jaylon has just released his first mixtape titled Space Anthem mostly produced by Jack Frost an upcoming DJ out of Agg-town Tx and childhood friend. Space Anthem mixtape is for a certain group of people freak’s of nature people who believe there so different from everyone else there not on this planet. People on the mixtape are his group K.A.P. (Kings Amongst Peasants) which include himself, Jay-Free, and Tru Story. An artist Cool Hand Curt, unlike a lot of other artist 80 percent of Jaylon’s project is him by himself showing confidence on the ability own songs himself. Also promoting his single “Weekend Alcoholic” he is hoping to have much success in 2010.

Other project’s coming soon include Face The Music Vol. 1 through 4 and Album Not Down 2 Earth staying busy in the studio doing show’s pushing JaylonTV on youtube and tryna spread through the mass in the U.S. Jaylon has his work cut out. Just to name a few place’s Jaylon has performed at Crystals, Mambo Café, Half Times, Bob Center’s Rec., and B-day parties for artis around the DFW area.

In his words:

“ My artist influences are. 2pac, Eminem, Joe Budden, T.I., Chamillionaire, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, Cassidy, Fabolous, and Magnificent…My current hustle is music along with my printing company. I like to smoke and drink on the weekends, and you can catch me at the ranch, hard bodies, onyx, or half-time on the weekend. (How do you feel about the game?) I believe the south has been running it for awhile. I respect all aspect’s of Hip-Hop and understand it means something different to everyone. I believe in the future everything will be digital and besides show’s, concerts, and brands artist sale all money from music will be made through the internet. An everyone needs to find out how they can use that to there advantage.”

Fantasia Speaks out-Via Global Grind

After weeks of being dragged through the mud for allegedly dating a married man by the name of “Antwuan Cook”, Fantasia addressed the rumors about her personal life with Power 105’s Malikha Mallette. Fantasia supposedly met this guy in a cell phone store, they began dating and he left his family shortly afterwards.

“I am 25 years old babe. I have friends. Very nice looking friends. It’s time for me to do what everybody’s so used to me talking about “Freeing myself” and “Not gonna beg you no more” and just in bad relationships. You know I have friends, I’m 25 and I’m working on what I fought so hard for… Read more: Global Grind

Haiti needs our help!

Hip Hop artist Wyclef Jean is urging people to donate $5 to his Haitian charity, Yéle Haiti, by texting "YELE" to 501501. (The donation will be automatically charged to your cellphone bill.) His is one of many Haiti earthquake relief efforts underway.

Jean has spoken out saying, "I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse," said Jean in a statement. "We must act now... Haiti needs your prayers and support."

Jean said he is on his way to Haiti via the neighboring Dominican Republic and asked people to pray for Haiti and for him.

For more information on how to help, go to Jean's Yéle Haiti website, which crashed this morning due to the volume of traffic.

In a moving pre-Christmas message on his website, Jean wrote about Haiti and hope:

"At times when I go to Haiti I ask myself what would have happen if I never made it to America? What would I be doing right now? What if I never became Wyclef, and Wyclef was getting on the plane today to come to Haiti to bring me food and Christmas Gifts how would I feel.

When I reflect on such things, it makes me understand that to live for others is the none selfish way to live. At times we are so caught up with ourselves that we forget about those around us. Some say they can’t help the needy because they have no money to give to the poor. I say no one gave me money, in the hut they gave me hope."

Singer Teddy Pendergrass dies

On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, the world learned that Theodore DeReese "Teddy" Pendergrass, Sr. had died at the age of 59. Pendergrass first came into the national spotlight as the lead singer of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, a Philadelphia-based soul group which topped the charts with 1972’s “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” “Wake Up Everybody,” and many more classic songs. He later went solo, landing numerous singles on the pop and R&B charts throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, such as “Close the Door” and “I Don’t Love You Anymore.”
In 1982, Pendergrass was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident, but returned to the stage, performing in a wheelchair for Live Aid in Philadelphia in 1985. Recently, he was having “a difficult recovery” after undergoing surgery for colon cancer last spring. Pendergrass will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and fans. The hearts of all mourn the loss of such a great and talented man. Pendergrass is survived by his son, two daughters, his wife, his mother and nine grandchildren.
